About Seduction

How Seduction was created

Seduction has been created by Denis Merkas, the Director of Merkas Health. Below, Denis divulges a little about the inspiration for Seduction and making your partner melt.

"I entered the health industry in 1996. Back then, I never pictured being in the business of couple's romantic getaways. I was studying Acupuncture at the time, and completely focused on finishing the degree to set up a clinic.

Like most ideas, Seduction started quite unsuspectingly... it was September 2004 and I was out for breakfast with two close friends in North Melbourne. Over breakfast, one asked, 'Den, I've been massaging my girlfriend lately but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right... do you have any tips?' Shamelessly, we reviewed some techniques over coffee with a small crowd of onlookers intrigued by three men in suits massaging each other. Two weeks later at a party, their girlfriends returned with impressive feedback: 'this must be bottled!'

The massage program was written by December 2004, but there was something about the perception of the concept that was bothering me. I spent a long time discussing the concept with anyone who would talk to me, from friends to strangers, and even patients of Merkas Health. I felt that Seduction could be perceived by the public as teaching sexual or sensual massage, and it's not about that.

During this time Seduction evolved. The 'make your partner melt' philosophy introduced a stronger purpose than just teaching couples how to massage each other, it added emotion and a new dimension to the program and stifled the stigma of it being a sexual program. Although massage is an important part of the program, Seduction became an experience couples could share and remember, something like a second first date.

I'm proud of Seduction and what it has grown into. It has all the elements for one amazing night! You'll learn something with your partner, you'll learn something about your partner, you'll laugh, you'll melt, you'll be surprised and you'll also surprise your partner."
